I just had the pleasure of testing out the Silhouette Mint – a custom stamp maker – and boy was I impressed. For starters, I had no idea that one could design and print their own stamps at home. Secondly, it was so easy and effortless!
To complement our fantastic Eufy Robovac 11 we also bought ourselves a Black and Decker Dustbuster cordless vacuum cleaner to deal with the stairs in our home as well as to reach the spots which Eufy can’t get to.
Quite a lot of time was spent looking for a good cordless vacuum. We initially bought the Vax Gator but as it turned out, that was not nearly as powerful as we had hoped.
Some people believe that a house isn’t a home without a pet and whilst we’ve already got two beautiful cats we decided to add another pet (if you could call it that) to our loving family. We went ahead and treated ourselves to a Eufy Robovac 11.
What is it?
The Eufy Robovac is a ‘high suction, self-docking, self-charging, drop sensing robotic vacuum cleaner’. Quite a mouthful isn’t it?
You’d think a cat is a safe pet. You’d think it loves you. You realise it only loves you because you feed it, but that’s beyond the point. Get a cat they said. It is automatically litter trained they said. They were wrong.
I got this new TaoTronics blacklight and boy was I let down…by my cat. Let’s forget about that for now and concentrate on this device.
It looks just like any other normal flashlight, apart from the fact that it glows purple and emits UV light. I must warn you at this point, for your own safety and those around you do not point this blacklight directly at your eyes, the eyes of anyone around you or of any pets, even if you start disliking them after buying this device…
It feels sturdy and is actually quite small at only 10cm by 3cm. The batteries that very conveniently come with it are enough to power it for about 5 hours of heart breaking discoveries about your previously loved pet.
It’s a simple device, but it can be used for a number of different tasks. As I believe I might have mentioned before, it can be used to detect dry pet urine (it glows under UV light), it can be used to detect fake bank notes since real notes have UV triggered watermarks and it can also be used as a fun toy to discover how UV interacts with white objects.
Jokes aside now, this blacklight was very effective at helping me spot marks of dry urine around the house. I spent a day walking around with the lights off scrubbing the floor and throwing things for the wash, so I believe it was very effective. I also keep it handy just in case I sell something and need to check cash to avoid getting scammed. So at it’s price, if you’re worried about getting scammed or are smelling an odd smell around the house, go ahead and purchase one. You won’t regret it.
Taotronics have also branched out into the Home and Lighting department and that, in my opinion, is a great thing. “Why?” you might ask. The answer is simple – Taotronics, throughout their presence in the market, have offered stylish, well-built and durable products. And I doubt these will be any different. With this new range various gadgets have been introduced including table lamps, LED strip lighting, home humidifiers, plant grow lights, etc.
Today I’ll be writing about the TT-DL11 Desk Lamp. This stylish lamp features a convenient goose-neck attached to a sturdy, weighted base. On the top side of the base the brand ‘TaoTronics’ is written, under which one can find the ‘Power Slider’. This allows the user to turn on and off the lamp as well as dim or brighten it according to required brightness.
The light is produced by low power LEDs which on full brightness only consume 7W and are covered by an ‘Eye Protection Panel’ which makes sure that the light emitted is soft and easy on the eyes. This light does not flicker nor product ghost light which allows users to read or work for longer without the eye strain that conventional light bulbs create.
What’s in the Box?
The minimalist design on the box gives the product a modern touch. Carefully packed inside one will find the LED desk lamp, the power adapter, a user manual in multiple languages (not that one is needed in this case), a cleaning cloth and a warranty card.
What do I think?
I’ve been using this desk lamp for about 2 weeks on my (previously) poorly lit desk. I’ve been getting less headaches and I am generally feel less eye strain at the end of the day. This could of course be to any other factors, but I’d like to believe that this desk lamp had something to do with it.
Would I recommend it?
I definitely will. The adjustable brightness and goose-neck ensure that this lamp can be customized to suit anybody’s needs and as with all Taotronics products it’s priced very competitively.
